Yes, but not through the special ceramic plate inserts they often use. You're right though, Dragonskin armor is better, in fact it's more flexable and can take more bullets. Oh and it's lighter too. The U.S. Military should use Dragonskin as standard issue I know we can afford it.

And the reason you cant, if you watched the video where they test it the grenade goes off and the vest plate isnt damaged, but it comes off of the vest itself and the pure force of the grenade would rupture all of your internal organs beyond recognition.

I think you're talking about the trophy system, most tanks don't use them, but basically it does 2 things, it can tell you where enemy shots are coming from, and it shoots out a small projectile to destroy incoming projectiles such as RPGs before they can hit.

It's called reactive armor, what it does, is it blows up just as a projectile (not a bullet) hits it (such as an RPG) and prevents the armor from being damaged. More importantly it protects the armor from being penetrated by Shape charges. There is also rumoured to be a layer of ceramic in M1a2 abrams tank armour. But classified.

They've also got a cheaper way to do the same job, just put a wire mesh like railings along it, so when a shape charge such as an RPG hits it, the shape charge isn't at the optimal range of the armor (say 1 inch away or touching) so the "beam" (if you will) of molten copper doesn't penetrate through the armor.
