How I felt after graduating, getting a job and trying to understand what I'm actually supposed to do at work...
It's the opposite for me. I went to public school, and was practically surrounded by douchebags and dumbasses. I now go to a music school, and I can safely say I'm surrounded by intelligence, creativity and talent.
I think OP is saying he felt smarter than everyone else in high school because everyone else was stupid, and now he feels like an idiot because people who make it to post-secondary education (or at least to his/her college) are smarter than him/her (or at least smart enough to make him/her feel stupid).
Nothing annoys me more when I hear business majors complaining about college.
According to multiple sources, Einstein used to be a poor student in school and they discovered he was a genius much later

If you reverse he pictures, that is how I felt after going to a private school all my life to a regional campus of The Ohio State University
And then you go to your first job in your field and realize you've wasted the last 6-8 years of your life learning stuff that will never help you.
I think it's a bit the opposite for me since college might actually matter more than high school.
I feel the complete opposite. I went to a private high school and i felt not llama stupid but slightly below average. Now I look at people and I laugh at their inferior intelligence and poor time management skills.
