actually that attack is getting a decent amount of attention, it gives people more reason to hate the middle east

Yeah it is everywhere, but CNN had put sexting as priority... which now is no longer even on the news... lol

This is because the entire world seems tense as **** today, which is nothing new.

China and Japan are bitching about the evil each other had committed in the past in order to gain some land (which both are in dire need of). It is all ******** nationalism, and both countries are on edge right now so that is actually on the concerning side.

As for the middle east, I am tired of their hypocrisy. Always going APE **** over anything... imagine if they had our power and we had theirs, what would happen. They complain about us now, but I feel they would of done far worse things to us.

Peace would be awesome, but in peace people forget the horrors of war, and history repeats itself giving the lessons again, and again.

Damn Human nature, you scary.

On a separate note, is there anything remotely newsworthy about people who talk to other people about how much they want to have sex being more likely to have sex? Isn't that just common sense?
User avatar #18 - jasonthedragon (09/18/2012) [-]
what is 'sext'?
User avatar #12 - schmitty (09/18/2012) [-]
I feel that would be obvious anyways. Saying "kids who sext are more likely to be sexually active" is like saying "Kids who read books are more likely to know to how to read."

Private news corporations aren't in the business of objectively educating the people about what's going on in the world, they're in the business of making money. And running a story on "sexting" equates to more ratings than if they ran the attack on the US Consulate story. It sucks, but that's the way private news corps work.

I don't think that's so much a problem with the news, though, as it is a problem with society. If we didn't live in a society where sexting garners more ratings than a major attack on a US consulate, this wouldn't be a problem. It's more pervasive, it doesn't just end at the news.

Though yes, the fact that I'm a fairly aware person and still had to search out the reason for the flag being flown at half-mast yesterday (said attack on the US Consulate), makes me sad.

TL;DR
It's not just the news that has ****** up priorities, it's society.

the one thing that pisses ME off is that in ontario where i live, ALL TEACHERS are getting their pay cut, and their sick days cut down to like 4 per year.

this means that all extracurricular activities (sports teams, clubs, dances, field trips) are being shut down in every single school in the province, all because some dick wants more money.

and the NHL lockout is taking priority over that

yeah, this especially hits the good teachers that have been working the longest, and the new teachers who are just starting out and often have good ideas of bringing technology into the classroom.

the older teachers are having their pay cut (teachers are payed more by how long they have been teaching) and newer teachers have to wait 3 years for their pay to start going up

that's how the MSM works they don't tell you important stuff because the people in charge of news content are in bed with government and they don't report things the government don't want you to hear.

Like recent US protests in Afghanistan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Yemen, Lebanon and Iraq claiming it's over a stinking video that got posted. It could POSSIBLY be because our military has been occupying and bombing those countries in recent years.... NOOO it's over a film featuring Muhammad.

The news here is all GET THEM FOR TAKING PICTURES OF THE ROYAL TITS, in other news a toddler was killed today in nursery, THEY SHOULD SUE THE ONE WHO TOOK THAT PHOTO.

It's been hard to find a time CNN hasn't been covering the Assault in Libya and Egypt since 9/11/12. There were a few interruptions for updates on the teacher's strike in Chicago, and a small bit today about the leaked Mitt Romney video where he makes an ass of himself, but other than that, it's been pretty much non-stop coverage of the global anti-american protests, so..... Oh, and MSNBC covered something about someone involved with NASA starting an experiment to try out a warp engine theory today. That was neat.

The media covers the stupidest and most unimportant things. The first thing i saw on Tv when i arrived in australia was something about teen moms complaining about not receiving free education of something.

I love it when the news makes a big deal of some simple disease or medical thing that isn't a big deal.
E coli, bird flu, swine flu, and other **** . Or that straight up lie that vaccines cause autism.

I laughed at how people ******* themselves without even bothering to research the facts. Seriously, we have google now.

On the news tonight in Salt Lake City, some dude took a hostage, went up an elevator and ended up in the FBI lobby.

Not like every kid in the Chicago School District is currently out of school due to a teacher strike. Or that there were also attacks in Yemen, Morocco, and the A-stan, or you know, the 16th typhoon to hit Okinawa this year. Nah, because sexting is srs bsns.

If you go to a news website and look at the top 10 most read stories, they're all celebrity and sex-related stories. Politics doesn't get hits, and hits are what brings in revenue, which media companies need to operate because they are a business.

What you read is influenced by what is popular, so if you don't like it, stop clicking on it!
