I don't know about you, but even before the grinding school dances have never been formal.

My school strictly enforces formality at all our dances.

No athletic shorts, yoga pants, skirts more than 3" above the knee, no spaghetti tops, no skin showing around stomach, very limited cleavage.

We also have a winter formal where you have to dress extremely nicely in order to get admitted.

Well my school plays both grinding songs and slow dancing songs. It's kind of weird but it's either hard, sexual grinding or soft, sentimental slow-dancing at the formals I've been to.

My school dresses in dress shirts, pants and ties and the girls wear dresses to homecoming. (which is what I'm talking about) and the dance does feature slow dances, too. It's a mix of both.
