Well, to be honest I made the mistake of forgetting that 000 is also a valid result when rolling 3 digits, but triples... 000, 111, 222, etc. That's ten possible combinations of identical digits until you hit 999 (which is the highest 3 digit number) Total, there are 1000 3 digit numbers starting from 000. So ten out of 1000 = 1/100. You have a 1% chance of rolling trips. But a specific number is 1/1000, which is 0.1%. So ten times as rare.
