I haven't heard of this in Skyrim, but isn't there a bridge in Oblivion that there's a dead troll floating under and when you search him there's a note declaring his suicide because no one wanted to cross his bridge or something like that?
I can confirm that this is a real story, in my homeland Norway this story is told to children at all ages. I actually went to a school with three statue bucks as mascots.

i was unable to enjoy the reference when visiting this area..
>passing by this bridge to do some random side quest shit
>see forsworn
>keep going, not worth my time
>after some time, notice my dog isn't next to me anymore
>go back to look for him
>he tried to protect me from the forsworn
>he's dead, forsworn arrow on his corpse
>see the bastards forsworning around
>use arrow they killed my dog with to shoot one in the face
> decapitate the other
>return to my dog's side
>"Why, Rufus?! Why?!"

i dont play like that. it makes the game meaningless if you just reload until you get it right. you gotta live with your mistakes and move on.
i never got another dog, but i made sure to do some mass forsworn extermination to avenge my good pal.

We did a Three Billy Goats Gruff play in elementary school. I had the honor of being the badass goat that threw the troll off the bridge. I got all the bitches.
okay the last part was a lie

I remember in Morrowind there was a skeleton in a grotto somewhere named Peke Utchoo.
had a note that read "If anyone shall ever find me, I hope I am able to bring them to laughter."

For all you A level English fags out there
Frost is a palomino Clydesdale horse in Skyrim that appears outside Black-Briars Lodge during the quest Promises to Keep. His name seems to be a reference to poet Robert Frost. The quest title is a line from the poem, "Stopping By the Woods on a Snowy Evening," involving a horse and its master.
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
For some reason I've loved that poem ever since we had to study it for the exam..
