Touchscreens are difficult to type with and require auto-correct. Non-flip phones are prone to pocket dialing and cracked screens. However, the battery life is poor (as is with every Blackberry).

I wish there was more variety in phones. Nearly every cell phone now is open-face and touchscreen.

Here's a compromise: the Samsung Captivate Glide. It's the phone I have. It has a keyboard, so I never have to use auto-correct. Because the screen locks, butt dialing is a non-issue. Since I actually have hand-eye coordination, my phones do not suffer abuse or get dropped and damaged. The downside is the battery life, and it does need to be charged daily, but there are ways that you can conserve use of power programmed into the phone.

My phone history (for the past decade) begins with the Nokia 3310, followed by a Motorola Razor, then a Samsung Blackjack II, then the Samsung Captivate Glide.

Well, being a Nokia it is very durable, I have accidentally dropped it, stepped on it, dropped a table on it (don't ask) and it still looks and performs as if it were brand new.

As for pocket dialing, I just lock the keypad whenever I'm not using my phone.

they haven't done much since windows 98, and since OSX... what you point? there really isn't much to do, every single phone company will be doing only little things to their phones. another good example is the HTC S III. my friend has the S II, and there is almost no difference to them.

no there is no sarcasm, i have compared the S II that my friend has with an S III, there is almost no difference. the only real difference that i can see is that they have rounded the edges.

Same goes for mine, even after heavy use it can last at least 3 days. Leaving it alone, fully charged, it would still probably take 2 weeks for the battery to run completely dry. I'd rather have these wonderfully long battery lifetimes than so many functions and risk it dying on me in no time at all.
