I have one! She's about 2 years old and a beautiful dog but she's a big baby. She's normally horrified of everyone she sees that she doesn't know when we take her outside.

I hate that pitbulls are almost instantly labelled as a type of dog that is uncontrollable and dangerous wild animals.
They aren't naturally vicious. It's just idiots who think that they look like a tough dog raise them to be that way, and that's when the actual "bad" pitbulls come into it.
If you raised it well enough it could be the sweetest fucking thing ever, and depends on stuff that happen to it, and if it is attacked etc.
All dog's can have slightly different personalities based on their upbringing
Example:
- When I was about 10, I was bitten by an Alsatian. I just happened to be there, and it just ran up to me and bit me on the leg.
- Weeks later, I saw another one, and was like "holy fuck no" because I thought it was the same one. I stood still for like 10 minutes before it came up to me and licked my hand
- Years later I met another Alsatian, as I was riding my bike slowly somewhere, and I rode past the dog, and it yelped like a puppy and ran away. I stopped, and the owner told me that when it was little, it was hit by a bike, and it's been terrified of them ever since. This massive dog was acting like a scared little puppy simply because I was on a bike.

My point? Not every dog of the same species is the exact same... I hate that stupid fucking generalisation that all pitbulls are dangerous.

Pitbulls get a bad rap and are considered dangerous because people who buy them are stupid.

Pitbulls, along with breeds like German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Akitas, and Dalmatians and Chows are really intelligent and strong. They take a lot of training and attention to be able to function safely and normally around people and places they're unfamiliar with. It really rustles my jimmies when I hear people talk shit about such great dogs. My family has a Dalmatian and an American Stafford-shire (essentially a Pit Bull). They are great dogs.
