using my motorola droid3. cable frays and now i cant charge my phone without the cable being in PRECISELY the right spot. dig through the drawers and find my first phone with its huge ass adapter charging cable. (also a motorola) attempt to plug it in. STILL FITS. 5 years difference, dont change the cable. why would this idea ever be removed?

If the cable fails more quickly than the previous one you will have to buy a new cable. Key word here is BUY. You make a product and have a component fail that has to be replaced otherwise the product won't work. That means more money for the company that sells the product. Things aren't meant to last any more, they are meant to fail so you can buy more **** to use the **** you have.

Is that a micro-USB? It took Apple that ******* long to accept a universal input method?

It is reversible, so you can insert it either up or down. The cable is honestly the only cool innovative thing of the entire event.

the adapter to connect it to old docks/chargers is £25, so probably $35-ish (im not really sure of the exchange rate but its still a rip off)
