Actually, Mastercheif would win. The Space marines stopped advanced their technology in millenia. The spartans however, make use of any alien tech thry can. and can adapt to fight in any combat situation. THey have energt shields. And they are also as strong as a space marine, while being extremely agile. It would be like a space marine fighting an Eldar. No contest.

Yes. Ive played table top and read a book. I know a god amount of fluff, though. And considering Spartans are trained to use whatever they have around them, I dont believe its fair to try and limit them to their factions weapons.(I mean, i honestly think your only limitinh them to faction weapons because space marines are forced to be limited. Because they fear they will bet impure if they use other xenos weapons) Its apart of who they are to pick up whatever they can, and beat some ass with it. if youre compairing te two, you cant limit them. That being said, the Spartan could be equiped with any weapon in either universe. Also, A spartan Laser could easily penetrait a Space Marines armor. Space marines also get the **** kicked out of them by eldar all the time. considering their weapons are much more powerful, they have better psychers, and they are more agile. Oh, and they also dedicate thir lives to battle. And they live much longer than space marines.
A spartan is trained in stealth as well. not just frontal assualt. they have cloaking devices and such. Even though space marines start as scouts. its not like them to be sneaky. And more than a little difficult for them to be. even with an iron halo. They wouldn,t be able to stop the assault a spartan like John could bring. Imagine a chapter master trying to survive an wave of Terranid. He would be ****** . John? fights armies of flood by himself. along with the Covenant.

I know what I know, too. and I know a Cm Vs a Spartan is a little more than just one sided. So I had to pull out whatever I can to try and prove you wrong. Me and my brother had the same conversation, he as been playing table top for atleast 10 years. And it was a regular group of spartans vs a space marine squad. and Spartans win for being more versetile. They could pick up a bolter after kiling one space marine, and wreck **** with it right off they bat.

NID and flod arent that different though. They difference being that Nid can be a little more terryfying. The fact is, is that flood is Halos Nid. Its the equivilent to Nid in Halo. I know, Space Marine are pretty bad ass. But a vanilla space marines will pretty much get the **** kicked out of them by anything except for maybe orcs on the table top. They are slower. have ******** weapons than most other races. and ******** psychers. Games Workshop just likes to beat off on space marines because they are money makers. not game winners.

Cheif, as all Spartans are, are physically augmented to have super strenght. They can flip tanks over for christs sake. They can handle a bolter. Cheif also fights enemies on multiple occassions, that could easily rip right through his armor and kill him instantly. He could survive a nid attack. Not in open warfare. but he could fight his way through say. a complex too a drop ship waiting to take him off planet. Spartans have weapons that can kill a Space marine. Spartan lasers. Roclet launchers. Gauss cannons. Missile Pods. And if you bring the Space Marines amroury into question, the Spartans started out fighting the covenant with projectile weaoponry vs plasma. Like the Tau use. So they are already use to fighting technologicaly advanced races. If anything, you must admit that Spartans vs Space marine is an even fight. Space marines may have hundreds of years of experience, but its hundreds of years of doing the same damn thing. Spartans are constantly changing their tactics and adapting to what ever they are fighting.

Dude. Cheif isnt a ordinary spartan. Space marine are much bigger targets. And He would use any manner if attack to survive. Even usin Xenos weapons. Which your Space Marines are to scared to use. And cheif has pretty much already proved he can by storming covenant battleships, full of both flood and covenant. Surviving against countless opponents, alone. He could get through too a pelecan drop ship and escape a nid swarm.

Oh, and thats just how they view them. Which is a weakness. Im not a space marine. If I saw a Xenos weapon. and I was out of ammo, Id ******* use it. And so would John.

I had to go do something. A valid conversation can and will continue on if its interesting. And I didnt get to finish what I was saying. So no, it isnt. What the hell is with this "Feth" thing anyways?

I believe I can do whatever I want, and ive had a conversation last days, with longer than 5 hour breaks between them. Just because you cant stand to see your precious space marines lose a fight, doesnt mean you get to end a conversation when you want to.

"Wars start when you please, but dont end when you will" A regular spartan would probably fail at surviving a nid swarm. And probably wouldnt hold up against a CM for longer either. But John may as well be a god. No space marine can back hand a ******* missile, without he help of Terminator armor. Even then, they would probably take a wound.

Well at least you arent a total Space Marines fan boy, then. They get like 12 codexs for each different chapter. Before half the other races get one. I just really had to make a point man. There are few things I pride myself with. Knowing a lot about Nerdy Science Fiction **** is one of them.

My brother has a Witch Hunters army. He mainly plays Eldar, and apparantly his Eldar havent been beaten in years. I know in the year I had been playing with him, he may have gotten beaten once with Chaos marines. He also has A Necron, and obviously a Chaos army.

Dude, John has back handed a missile fired at him. And fluff wise, John actualy cant lose. He isnt allowed too. He doesnt get lucky. he pretty much has invulnerability. And even without that, hes the perfect soldier. He cant stop a nid invasion, but he can sure as hell fight through one and get away. Spartans are trained to fight one sided battles. He would find a way. Because he has too. Hes pretty much the most OP character you will ever come across. Fluff, and stat wise. He can and will kick the **** out of almost anything you can throw at him.

Spartans are incredibly agile though, and if they were fighting chainsword to energy sword agility would win.

Its not like master chief predates the space marines 37500 years or anything and is at a technology disadvantage or anything. Fair fight, no armor. little more even.
User avatar #253 to #247 - haloforlife (09/14/2012) [-]
So look at orks running round with make sift weapons.
User avatar #250 to #247 - gildemoono (09/14/2012) [-]
Also, space marines may be demi-gods, but the chief is a full fledged "demon"

well, for starters lets just assume its a one on one. A squad of space marines would destroy the chief, no argument there, however when it comes down to a one on one, i think that is when factors such as luck and speed will determine the winner. Master chief is smaller, both in bulk and height, this offers him more agility and speed, able to avoid punches, kicks etc... He also has a highly intelligent AI to help him fight, to analyse the space marines armour, find weak spots, vital spots, etc. I think if it came down to one on one, master chief would win due to agility luck and cortana. pic semi related, has bullets

lets say master chief has an energy sword and plasma pistol. the chief does a bunch of rolling and dodging, and using cortanas aid is able to get behind the chapter master and slash vital components of the armour, ventilation for example. at that point the chapter master has to remove the helmet or risk cooking, then all it takes is one well placed plasma bolt

i think the chief should use whatever he has available, adaptability is what allowed him to beat the covenant, so if an energy sword is lying around an armoury he would grab it

It's all about having a fair fight. The Space Marines are, compared to the technology at Chief's time, hyper-advanced. So I'd be proposing a rather simple fight.
1. No armor.
2. Master Chief would use a Gravity Hammer, and the Space Marine would be using a Power Axe.

This way it would be much more interesting.
User avatar #297 to #283 - TheRetardedEskimo (09/14/2012) [-]
I wouldnt say hyper advanced. Their main form of weaponry, the bolter, is still a projectile weapon. Id say the Eldar are hyper advanced Since Tau are pretty much they covenant, and as far as tech goes, they are passed only by the Eldar.

he does not need to wield both at once, he can cycle through quick enough for the job. also that back hand would go horribly wrong if it came into contact with that energy sword, it would pass through the armour and remove the chapter masters hand
