its been my experience that when a black person says purple drank they mean promethazine normally mixed with sprite, where as if they mean grape kool aid they call it purple kool aid.

incase ur wondering promethazine is a medicine, cough syrup to be exact if i recall correctly.. just very good cough syrup... they also call it "lean" because after you drink it u just kinda lean back and chill.
