dude thats so much work just combine like terms and factor
x^2+6x+9=x+3
x^2+5x+6
(x+6)(x-1)
x= -6,1

Close but its actually:
(x+2)(x+3)=0
Therefore x= -2, -3

Really? I would say there's only one answer since the x's cancel
x^2+6x+9=(x+3)(x+3)
(x+3)(x+3)= (x+3)
x+3=1
x=-2

Solving for zero is always easier. Because **** X.

x^2 + 6x + 9 = x + 3
x^2 + 5x + 6 = 0
(x + 2)(x + 3) = 0
x= (-2), (-3)

(-3)^2 + 6*(-3) + 9 = (-3) + 3
9 + (-18) + 9 = 0
0 = 0

(-2)^2 + 6*(-2) + 9 = (-2) + 3
4 + (-12) + 9 = 1
1 = 1

**** sorry bad math it would be x= 2,3
if it was 6 and -1 then the 6 would be negative

No idea, we always used this formula to find x. >ou need to solve one part to the equation to zero first. Leaving:

x^2 + 5x +6 = 0
a b c

and so on and so forth that way finding x1 x2, thus the points where the function crosses the x axis.

Lol i know how it works, we were taught this method afterthe cross multiplication method where you draw a large plus sign then put numbers in side like X^2 + 6 on the bottom left space then the 5x at the bottom right space. then extend upwards.. it should look like....
X + 3 l 3X
X + 2 l 2X
__________
X^2 + 6l 5X
X multiply by X = X^2 and 3 x 2 = 6 then 3X + 2X = 5X.... then the equation transforms into. (X + 3)(X + 2) = 0 then either X + 3 = 0 or X + 2 = 0
Thus X = -2 or -3...

I deduced that the answer is in fact x= -6/7, due to the fact the first term is x multiplied by 2, not x^2.
