If you don't like it because they aren't actually smart, stop watching just about every show on TV. It's all rehearsed and fake, (with a few exceptions) and nobody is exactly like their character in the show.

Dislike it because of content, not because of content that doesn't happen in real life...

It's not that I don't know that acting is acting, but shitty acting with a ton of really cheesy science jokes packed into every five seconds doesn't exactly suit me.

a nerd is usually a very intelligent person that enjoys things that the mainstream would normally make fun of like comic books or science fiction programs. They also dress really bad because they are unaware of a common sense of fashion. Nerds also suffer from several social anxiety problems because they aren't very fond of popularity or the concept of a big social circle, and they are usually more focused on themselves or their work. There's also people who call themselves nerds mainly because they are trying to express their fan-hood for the show, but in reality if you went up to one of these people and told them you're a hardcore gamer who enjoys comics and doesn't drink or do drugs; they would call you a faggot, because being a real nerd is uncool. The point of the show is that you're supposed to laugh at these people for being nerds not idolize them and start a stupid and insulting trend. Just to narrow it down a nerd is not someone who wears 3D glasses and superman shirts, a nerd is an intelligent person who suffers from social anxiety. Basically im just making fun of people who pretend to be nerds because they try to be hip and trendy.

im a nerd im not ashamed to admit it. i have 80 percent average, i enjoy comic books, i love science fiction programs, i play videogames 5 hours a day every day, i occasionally play with action figures (even though im 17), im extremely quiet around people at school, ive never been involved in a dating relationship of any kind, i get laughed at for my looks and the clothes i wear, ive never been to a party because ive never been invited and i dont really desire it at all. Whenever i see someone at school like for example a popular girl in my class who watches big bang likes to call herself a nerd because she enjoys the show, but whenever i approached her and talked about science or any of my hobbies, she was turned off and i got laughed at by my peers. so yeah i just think its stupid how people try starting a dumbass trend because they are completely missing the point about the show, its like if there was a show about the KKK and people started saying nigger and acted like a racist, but in reality they are just trying to be funny and cool like they think the characters are.
