My dad died in 9/11. I was 6 at the time and my mom was pregnant with my brother, Michael. She was the last person in the family to talk to him before he died. Now, on its 12th anniversary, like she does every year, she goes to his grave and weeps. But this year was different. She came back around 1:00PM today and said to me:
"Joshua, I love you, and your father loves you. And I think you deserve to know what your father was doing during 9/11."
"What was it mom?
"He was on one of the planes that crashed into the tower."
"Oh. Well, at least he didn't suffer."
"Yes. And I want you to know what his last words were. I didn't understand them, but maybe you will."
"Okay."
"He said to me, 'Mollie, this flight will be expensive. I probably need about tree fiddy."'

Yesterday at school, the morning announcements person ended the traditional 9/11 speech with a loud "YOLO"
