Dude I love Metroid, and I think Halo is cooler, but Halos guns arent as neat, Metroid's gun is permanently attached to his armor, so, I think he can beat Halo.

When I first saw the gameplay trailer for Halo 4, I was instantly reminded of Metroid because of the new Forerunner planet and weapons. But I totally think Master Chief and Samus would make a great couple. Gotta love the flexible chicks.
