Try it in a reanimator deck. When you play it, you discard expensive creatures from your hand, and then bring them back from the dead using cards like reanimate, or zombify.

The set that this card is from, Dissension, has a machanic called Hellbent. Hellbent spells become more potent when you have zero cards in hand. This is obviously synergistic with that ability. You may want to try digging up some of the black and red cards from that set if you can find them, or try finding an old Rakdos (Black and Red aligned guild from the set) starter deck. It's really tricky, but fun, to play it right.
