For everybody wondering:

Headaches are caused by pain-sensitive structures AROUND the brain.
This includes the following: muscles, blood vessels, mucous membranes, and periosteum (Which is the thin layer that covers the surface of bone).

Neurosurgery is done with the patient awake. This is because they must make certain that no brain damage is being cause, and the patient to BE ALERT. Yes, anesthesia is applied, but not to the brain. It is used to null out the pain of DRILLING INTO YOUR SKULL. The brain however, does not succumb to anesthesia. If it did, you wouldn't be alert enough for them to quiz you.

Headaches can be (I'm not an expert, so there may be other ways too) by the membrane around the brain, which, in the cases of hangovers, dehydrates and tightens causing pain. However, for any headache it is never your brain that causes the pain (ooh that rhymes!), only the brain that "notices" the pain, as it were.

As somebody who has had brain surgery, let me tell you something...

They will tell you it's all the rage to have somebody cut your head open and poke your brain.
They will tell you it's like being on drugs cuz your brain goes haywire.

But just like any drug, there are consequences.

BRAIN SURGERY: NOT EVEN ONCE.
