I tried the Dr. Dre beats. they have seriously terrible fidelity. their main selling point is powerful bass, and to that I say fair enough; but that comes to the expense of everything else, which becomes a blurry mess. in that respect, they're not even equivalent to $30 sennheisers, which don't have a fantastic range but at least they don't rape the mid and treble frequencies.
the problem is that some people hate on these headphones because of bandwagoneering, and as a reaction to that, people who want to be 'cool' and 'different' suggest that they are not so bad. I hate this kind of revisionism. these headphones fucking suck.

I tried Beats and enjoyed it very much. Though, as much as I like headphones that go around your head and not in your ears, they still seemed a little too bulky for me, and they were so loud. Even on a low volume, you can clearly hear what I was listening to from several feet away, and I don't like that.
