They're actually programmed not to use full strength on every play. A good one will win about one every three games

My parents' job was above a bar, they would go to it at lunch and play the crane.. they would come back to the office with like.. 5-6 of them at a time..

My dad worked at an arcade, and it was so fucking hard to win on a machine.

They're individually programmed. Depends on how the owner wants it set up. Some will always use the same force to pull, others vary. My brother arts them up for some casinos and was trekking me about how all the games in the arcades are rigged to pay off just enough. The one with the lights going in a circle that gives you movies if it stops on the line, its not even skill at all, when you press it doesn't actually effect the outcome

Yea my friends and I played statistics with one of those.. We have a ball claw machine at my job, and you always win.. the kids love it. Funny enough though, the claw gets stuck often floating above the door still holding onto the ball..
