Why do people insist on buying supercars if they'll never be driven faster than a station wagon?
That's like buying a spaceship just to sit in it. Not saying they shouldn't be bought or driven at all, just saying that people buy cars that can hit well over 200mph, are purely race built and have so much more potential that's being wasted. Not to be a dick, but 90 isn't fast for a Ferrari...I've done that in my v6 pickup lol.
A competition ready car is light, has a roll cage, need racing tires and many other modifications to conform to certain homologation rules. The Veyron can never race in stock form, simply because it wasn't built to race. It can beat some race cars, but it's not race ready at all.
For example, the Ferrari 458 Italia. By your logic, it's race ready the way it is. But they have to modify it to race it, hence there's the Ferrari 458 Challenge, Ferrari 458 GT2 and GT3. Yes, the road car can reach high speeds, but it's built for the road, not competition. You need so many changes to make it ready for competition.

Racing takes many forms, obviously the lighter and specific race tuned cars will stomp a Veyron. But I wasn't specifically talking about the Veyron in my first comment, but I do know that it's not technically a race made care, but could easily compete if one could set the car up for the race of choice.
