you could have easily say that they were just really good bros who loved each other as friends and would follow each other to the end (ie Frodo and Sam),there was no need to bring up sexuality.

Just because something isn't said in the source material, that doesn't make it any less real. With JK Rowling and the Harry Potter books-- books and stories that came entirely from her own imagination, I might add-- she's allowed to say whatever the hell she wants about it. Hell, if she says that Ron and Hermione got divorced two years after the epilogue of the seventh book, then no matter what, it's true.

I'm not doubting the "truth" of it.
What I'm saying is that the manner in which she did it seemed to be more for opening the Harry Potter books to a larger target market and boosting her own image than adding a new perspective to the books.
