except the problem is, the mechromancer won't be released until a while after the initial game release(date of the release for mechromancer not specified)

Though if you want to go tactical, gunzerker is your best bet because your going to want more firepower

Axton seems like a neat-o guy.

Zero shouldn't even be used in co-op, he's more solo oriented and serves only as a distraction in a team, where as the Siren can heal you and trap enemies, Commando can provide extra firepower and ammo and the Gunzerker can add that extra punch you might need.

i had an assault rifle that pulling the trigger emptied the clip, as well as all of the possible overload type perks and as much ammo gen as i could get my hands on, the thing spat 1214 rounds in 10 seconds

I got one from Crawmerax that had insane speed and clip size, as well as small zoom and high damage. It was perfection in a gun.

I never really liked him. I didn't like his upgrades, and really didn't like his power.

I guess it's just preferences of playing. For me, I fuckin loved charging into rooms and going berserk on everyone's ass haha

I had a lot of fun with him. While the Beserk ability kind of fell off late game, I respecced him into master blaster and tank.

Got a glorious shotgun that dealt massive explosive damage.

I feel like i'm the only person who is dead-set on playing Axton.

I will also play Axton because Roland is EASILY my favorite in the first, BUT I want to try something completely new with Borderlands 2 so right off the bat everything will be complete fresh for me.

Yeah, axton has the Gunpowder skill tree, which is focused on medium - long range engagement and the use of the longbow (teleporting) turrets and explosives, the Guerilla skill tree, which is close-combat with turret taunting enemies to keep you alive while you wreck shit at close range, and the Survival tree, which boosts your defense and vitality while buffing your turrets damage and fire rate

I haven't read much into salvador, probably has tank/dps trees as you'd expect

Mostly he can reload and get increased fire rate
And a couple other gunzerker related power-ups
Along with one of my favs money shot
which allows you to do extra with the last shot for like a headshot
And others related
