I'm thinking OP has a hidden message for us.

reptiles don't have legs that separate them from the ground, like lizards usually have their belly touching the ground, while most dinosaurs do have legs that separate them from the ground. Or at least, that is what i believe he means. I honestly just skipped and guessed on what it meant later.

So would crocodillians be considered saurian? For most of their life they can fully lift their belly off the ground, but they must drag themselves when they get to full size

It's the leg shape, dinosaur legs go straight down whereas reptile legs go out then down and they have to kinda wiggle their body to walk where dinosaurs can move like mammals legs.

It keeps their stomachs off the ground
