if you really want a proxy you can get a chrome addon called proxy switchy.

you have to mess with the settings. First download proxyswitchy and when you do you'll see a little globe on the top right of your browser, thats the addon. Then right click it and select options. From there you have to make a new proxy (name it anything) and then get a proxy server port to put there. You can get proxy ports at websites like this hidemyass.com/proxy-list/

What do I put down for HTTP Proxy in the manual configuration?

if you look at the proxy list in the link it says type on the chart. Types are http, https, ftp and some other stuff. in the HTTP proxy you copy and paste one of the proxy ip addresses that is a type HTTP and you also copy the port

you dont really need to change any of those. Once you got the other stuff just left click the proxy switchy icon and activate your proxy.

I know I'm crossing the line with this one but, I'm ready to compansate you in only way I can right now, by dumping one of my pretty decent collections of whatever fits you.
The thing I wanted to ask you was: would it be possible that you upload you backup file of your switchy options and upload it to some random file hoster?
