NOM NOM NOM (08/26/2012) [-] PC is versatile. Its cheap, you can play any game from any system, you can hook your computer up to the tv so that it still seems like you're playing from a console, and you can even have the original consoles controller hooked up to your PC.
But then there's people like me who just prefer the classic feeling of owning a variety of sytems despite the cost and stuff. To each their own, in the end there really isn't any better or worse. it's a matter of opinion.

So if someone can't afford a high end PC they aren't true gamers?
I have a mid end gaming PC, it can run most games, but I also have way more friends that play Xbox, and my Xbox can play Crysis and other games like that(Although they so I buy most of my game are graphically superior on PC) for my Xbox.

Mainly because both consoles have exclusives, run games easier and don't require expensive graphics cards.
I use my PC for PC exclusive games only. Which takes up almost all my memory.

Not true, Mods such as Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul for Oblivion just make the game play so much better, without changing any of the main quests or storyline etc...
Or Morroblivion, which allows you to play Morrowind but on the graphics and engine of Oblivion.

Oh, and in case anyone wants to make a point about playing Wii games, candles, an IR bar, Bluetooth and a regular Motionplus remote work just fine. Best of both worlds. And what about our exclusives, and F2Ps? One is not inherently better than the other, but PC gamers get a lot more options and freedom, as well as better graphics and arguably better controls and control options. The one thing that console has on PC is how cheap it is initially.

You're talking about running it on Ultra settings, I think you overlooked the fact that most 600 dollar computers can run BF3 on regular or high settings and it's still more than the consoles has to offer.
PC gaming doesn't require super computers, just average to play average, and it's still fine. You need really advanced computers to play everything the highest, if that's your argument.

And the original console is often the better experience, but using an Xbox controller to play Halo Reach on PC can be just as enjoyable. I wouldn't know, because I only play it on my Xbox. My point was, and is, PC gamers are paying a premium for the better graphics and options they get, and console gamers get what they paid for, a good gaming console that plays fun games, without hassles like knowing if your drivers are good, whether your specs are good, etc. Neither option is superior to the other. So, do you understand my position now?

It takes 50-100x greater processing power (according to a mostly reputable source) to emulate. I implied something that isn't true. I thought I knew more that the others did and made a fool of myself, and am now paying for it in red thumbs. I will survive, but it is a good lesson in humility. And now I know more than I did before. So I will be polite and try to extricate myself from a situation I have landed myself in, like a level headed, normal person would do. No one here has done anything wrong to be, so why should I be rude to them? It was my mistake and not theirs.

I expressed a non-aggressive opinion, showing the motivation behind this PC gamer at least, on why people gravitate toward that platform. And no I haven't. Spyro wasn't a part of my childhood so I felt no need to play it.
Consoles have their place and PCs have theirs. Actually I should elaborate before people assume I am still trying to be an asshole(again apparently). Consoles offer analog, fine control games, that put an emphasis on their platforms unique controls over graphical prowess. PCs are about a high power, binary input controls, and pushing technology forwards at great cost to consumers.
I think I explained that fairly well, but I hope people can get past the fact that I am not taking a side, and not supporting brand power, or defending my purchase as the best purchase. I am merely pointing out the pros and cons of both ways of playing games.
Now I hope you have a nice day. I am going to play a spot of TF2 and then try to beat an extreme track on Trials Evolution.
