Because it wasn't just one thread. He had threads spanning months, if not years, all archived.

All he did was Q&As. People would ask where he was, and he said he didn't want to tell, he wanted to be cut off from everyone. He said he sometimes stole for food, but wish he didn't. He sometimes stole electricity to charge his batteries, etc. I read through a few of the archived threads, it all felt quite authentic.

He wrote a story about how he started, that he just went to the woods, found a hole, and crawled inside. That he covered the top with sticks and a raggedy tarp over a couple days, and stayed there for a couple weeks. How he got kicked out by a ranger. Interesting lad.

Its one thing to lie consistently over a couple days, or a couple weeks. Its another to keep a lie consistent over many months, with threads being months apart.

Also, the board wasn't /b/. I should have specified that. I forget exactly which board it was, but my gut feeling is /r9k/. He'd been around since before it was removed, and back again after it was returned, which wasn't a long time.
