TDKR made me cry but not for the reason you might think. Originally there was going to be a fourth movie, once again with the Joker. Obviously due to Heath's death that **** aint happening. Anyway, during this final movie there was going to be another villain, my personal favorite, Harley Quinn, you can see the actress who was supposed to play her in TDKR, she's Catwoman's friend.

Blackgate Penitentiary is for criminals who were deemed not to be insane.
Joker would be in Arkham.

Christopher Nolan said he would not even mention the Joker in TDKR. He also said the Joker would not be dead for respect for Heath Ledger. In the novelization of the movie it said that all the Arkham inmates were moved to Blackgate Prison, except the Joker. It was rumored that he was either locked away in the sole of Arkham, or he escaped. No one was sure.

although not a popular belief, knowing that batman was dead in the film the joker would be miserable. From the quotes of Mark Hamill "Without the batman, crime has no punchline".

pretty sure in Nolans batman universe Bane would be Scared of the Joker as the Joker would see that Bane is just a big schemer with another mask and would **** with him every step of the way
