Don't get me wrong now, John was a decent man, but his 'killing joke' experience , aka, one really fucking bad day, broke him, and as much as I can sympathize with his plight and wishes to make all the other unenlightened see the world like he does, it only leads to more suffering and yatta yatta

I'd agree with that. The films were just bad later on in the series because no matter what the person did they'd just die because his "help" was running the show. I liked it better when he actually made a way out that rehabilitated murderers and rapists.

I might not remember correctly, and correct me if I´m wrong, but in the movies, didn´t the old guy always leave a way out? but then his helping girl took over and then the entire rehabilitation thing got fucked because she didn´t give the puzzles any solution??

Yep ._. that crazy girl wanted to kill them after they passed, then there was another guy and woman I believe. Most the puzzles after that had no solution.

I dislike Will Smith in pretty much everything but MIB, Wild Wild West and Fresh Prince, (mostly because he stopped doing comedy) but this move was absolutely amazing. It gets to me every time I watch it.
