it's because they'll randomly jumble the answers so that you can't simply copy your friends. Looks like the university outsmarted themselves.

I recently took an On-line test and the first two questions asked your first and last name.
After I entered my last name - it said something to the extent of 'incorrect answer; answer must be longer than 6 characters'.
Had a hard time explaining how I got that wrong. -_-
