>People bash about CoD being repetitive
>No-one ****** mentions super Mario bros. once, ever.

No one bashes Sheakespeare about all his works being full of dramatic clichés either, mainly because he created things that then became clichés...

I wouldn't bash something if I thought it was fun. And I wouldn't deduct points from a game for doing something like being repetitive if I liked another game that was guilty of the same crime. That's the point of this comic, people bashing a game for something that a game they like does as well. PS Besides, in reality all games are repetitive, there aren't that many buttons.

Some companies are better at making repetitive games, like Dice or Nintendo. So it is ok to deduct points from a game if you like another game like it. CoD is just way more apparent than games like BF, which in my opinion makes CoD a really boring, recycled shooter. I will admit, zombies is kinda fun, but I don't care how much fun zombies can be, $60 is really expensive for a single game mode that uses the same recycled mechanics as the core game.

Yeah but there is a lot of innovation to be had in the mario series, play each 3d mario game and you'll get a completly different feeling.

The only games in the mario series that get repetitive are the uninspired games such as the New super mario bros range.

Unlike other game developing companies who continuously produce new games, Nintendo has 5. 5 that they have 100 remakes for all of them.

comments like this piss me the hell off. First of all, Mario games are incredibly diverse. Even though the sports games are gimmicky, it's still a different Mario game. Look at this ****:
1981-Donkey Kong
1986-Mario Bros
1989-Dr Mario
1990-Mario 3
1996-Super Mario RPG
1996-Super Mario 64
1997-Mario Kart 64
1998-Mario Party
1999-SSB
2001-Paper Mario
2002-Mario Sunshine
2006-New Super Mario Bros
2007-Super Mario Galaxy
2009-New Super Mario Bros Wii (multiplayer)
Now look at Call of Duty:
2003-Call of Duty (several similar games following as a fun campaign series)
2007-Modern Warfare (first online hit)
2008-World at War
2009-Modern Warfare 2
2010-Black Ops
2011-Modern Warfare 3
2012-Black Ops 2

Do you see how **** CoD is compared to Mario now? Nintendo has reinvented Mario so many times to make NEW experiences with the same character. CoD is just the same game with different maps and skins. You're an ignorant retard.

>Implying I said Mario games were better than CoD
>Implying I was talking about all Mario games, not solely focussing on the platformers
>Platforming Mario games:
-Super Mario bros.- 1985
-Super Mario bros. 2 - 1988
-Super Mario bros. 3 - 1988
-Super Mario land - 1989
-Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins - 1992
-Super Mario Bros. Deluxe - 1999
-Super Mario Advance - 2001
-Super Mario Advance 2 -2001
-Super Mario Advance 3 - 2002
-New Super Mario Bros. - 2006
-New Super Mario Bros. Wii - 2009
-New Super Mario Bros. 2 -2012
And up and coming New Super Mario Bros. U for the Wii U

So, basically the same game with updated graphics and new feature added. Sound familiar?

They're all good games, I'm just saying that these Mario games are repetitive.

so you're saying one branch of mario games is just as bland as the entirety of CoD? Good for you, you decided to focus on the type of game that made mario famous 30 years ago and ignore, not only the 3D platformers, but every other mario game ever. CoD is the same game year after year after year. Mario isn't. Maybe if they backed off and tried to release a different kind of CoD game- oh wait, they can't because in CoD, the only thing you can do is run around shooting people.

That's because Mario doesn't come out with the same game every year. Sure, Mario games do come out every year, but they aren't all the same.

Lets see, we have Super Mario, Paper Mario, 3D Mario (Like SM64), Mario Party, Mario Kart and then the occasional cameo like Smash Bros or some other game like SSX on tour. That's 6 different game types he can be in that will only be repetitive if they release all of them every year, which they don't. Normally they wait for a new console to make Super Mario or Mario Kart.

CoD would probably be fine if they put a ton of effort into their games and only release them a few years apart, but it's just a cash grab, and that's whats happening with Battlefield too, only difference is that they change the name of their game every year. (MOH, BF, MOH, BF, etc.)

I see where you're coming from, which is why I said specifically "Super Mario bros." which is, I think, the platform game series and not the other games. And also, There's now a Mario party 9, they actually had the guts to call it that and not just "mario party funfunfun time" or something similar without a number. The most recent development is super mario galaxy, which has a sequel already.

And I'm not saying these games are bad, It just that instead of having only one type of game being repeated like CoD, you have the option to choose from like, 4 different types.

Ugh. People. That hat is a trilby. Yes, a trilby is a type of fedora, but there is a reason it has its own name. Calling a trilby is a fedora is like calling a square a rectangle. Technically it's accurate, but it sounds awkward because there's a more appropriate term.

The amount of times I've had to explain this on the internet would astound you.

People complain about CoD being repetitive but Pokeomon is one of the most drawn out series ever, same story get a starter, get the gym badges, beat the generic bad guys, meet the legendary/catch the legendary, become pokemon champion. At least CoD changes their story a little

When put like that. I guess it is. Though, the stories are different each time. That's like saying it would get repetitive to continue a series of a singleplayer RPG game. Even if it has a new story. I understand your point though, I just wanted to mention this.

Pokemon isn't really that repetitive.. I mean everything changes with every game, so the same mechanics stay, so the same game play stays..wait.. doesn't sound like EVERY game that has a series? People just pick on CoD because other people pick on CoD it's mob mentality. I don' t see the point in dissing any game for any reason. People just have different tastes. I for one dislike CoD because I'm more of a fantasy role-playing style gamer. Haters gonna ha- Shut the **** up haters.
