I'd imagine that some of those switches are wired to the entire fusebox of someones house far far away from yours (Perhaps China, Germany, maybe Canada) and whenever you flip it their power goes out.

You will probably think about this one day and flip the switch a few times quickly just to freak them out then giggle away.
