It depends how you want to play really

If you prefer fast paced action type of shooters, then COD is for you
If you prefer strategy based teamwork type of shooters, then battlefield is your choice

I love Battlefield, but I recently sold my PS3 and got an Xbox and I haven't had the time or money to go into town to pick up a copy of BF3

BF3 is a lot better than COD. There's a lot more team players, instead of people camping and caring only about kills, there's no ridiculous killstreaks, and BF3 hasn't been overkilled by releasing 35 fucking games with little to no differences inbetween.
