I think it means that you should have a job that makes you happy, not a job only for money. In western countries you spend much of our lives at work, so if we hate it, we're gonna regret it at the end of our lives. Also, some people quit their jobs and try to get autonomy, by growing their own food and building their own houses for example, and travelling with no or very little money.
I don't say the society we live in is 100% shit, but we shouldn't accept everything just because we were educated this way.
