Way better than Spider-Man 1 and 3, not too sure about 2 though.

Definitely better than 3, close call with 1, and on par with 2, IMO.

I love how it feels more real, like you can relate with the characters better than Raimi's version. And when Peter puts on the costume he actually BECOMES Spider-Man, not just Peter Parker with a mask..

I think a lot of has to do with the CGI. In the new one, they could start over, reinvent their character and make it different, since they have better CG now than the original.

In the original, they didn't have as high-quality CG, and were therefore stuck in their ways when they had to create new films. And obv. a new director etc.

If that makes any sense...
