Read up on it bitch, the red army was usually way more brutal to the civilians than that nazis. Like a königsberg, where the Russians tortured and raped over 1300 women and children. Then they killed the men and boys by pouring gasoline on them and burning them alive.

While this is most certainly true, the Nazi's had already commited horrendous atrocities against the Russian civilian population, with Leningrad and Stalingrad being good examples of such things. They also had horrific things in store for Russia after the war, entire regions were designated to be pillaged of their resources for use by the Reich, after which the entire civilian populations of these regions would be left to starve to death.

True, the nazis were brutal, and the raiding of crucial recourses was a total dickmove by the party higher-ups, but it was presumably needed to keep their own guys from starving. I'm not saying the nazis were good guys, lord knows they were not, especially the hardcore nazis like the SS. But not even the SS seemed to be as brutal to civilians as the red army. The SS killed a whole bunch of people indiscriminately, especially members of races that they perceived as inferior. These acts are inecusible and indefensible, but the nazis still didn't seem to enjoy brutality against the innocent as the red army clearly did.

In short, what I'm trying to say is that the average german soldiers were in no saints, but they never enjoyed raping and torturing civilians the same way that the soviets did.
