Friendly advice, never go in the larger cities or towns before you find weapons, look for weapons in barns and deer stands, and remember that crawling is your best friend

If i was given some sort of weapon, even melee, it would be more realistic and better, like how the fuck can i not find a shovel, crowbar, or even a bat / plank of wood in 3 farms...?
games over the SECOND you meet a zombie and he detects you until you get a weapon.

It's still in it's alpha stage, and it's not running on it's own game engine so you gotta think about the difficulties in doing that.

i can confirm this you can also get arma II free instead of arma II but arma II OA you always have to pay for

arma II free has worse textures though

defrag, clean your registry,use game booster and the default graphics, got an fps improvement from 8 to 40
(arma2 has the worst engine ever, i can play bf3 without any issues on 60 fps, it's retarded)
