Americans always complain about gas prices, but they've got pretty much the cheapest in the world. In England, it's usually about £1.45 per litre, which is $8.73 per gallon. And that's not even that high...

Actually according to wikipedia they are around the 50th country in cheapest gas prices.
in Saudi arabia (2nd) we pay 0.16$ per liter, (that's pretty accurate, because I did the calculations myself first, and the US pay 6.4 times more on gas, and the first country is Venezuela and we pay 7 times their price :D (they pay 0,023USD / L)

oil is free for saudi arabian citizens

if that's true then every gas station have been ripping me off.
(I'm a Saudi citizen, and I can confirm that what you are saying isn't true)

Thats because it's so heavily taxed and Americans lose their ******* minds whenever somebody tries to make them pay tax.

its actually $6.75/gallon. and the only reason our gas is 'cheap' is because it literally is cheap. gas quality here in the states is **** . our regular is only 85-87 octane while our premium peaks at 91 which is anywhere from 20 to 30 cents more than regular.
User avatar #65 to #39 - magict (08/14/2012) [-]
The premium in Florida is 93 octane and the minimum is 87

You did the litre to gallon conversion but didn't change the currency.

£1.45 / litre is approx. $10.33 / gallon

check your math

£1 = $1.57 currency conversion
£1.45 * 1.57 = $2.28 / litre

1 gallon = 4.55 litres
4.55 * 2.28 = $10.35 / gallon

Simples

Oh I forgot the US invented it's own gallon.

In which case it's around $8.70 like he said up there.

Actually, that's the UK gallon. I used the US gallon. Which makes sense. Because we're talking about America. The US gallon is about 3.8 litres.

Yeh i forgot they decided a stupid measuring system wasn't quite stupid enough and started making up their own versions to maximise confusion.

But in America we actually have places to be.

Because you have more public transportation.

I've never even seen a train.

Look at Brazil for a bit, bigest taxes in the world( true story, look it up), and still has one of the worst public schools, hostpitals and stuff ...

The gas is pateticly high, and we barely have any good public transportation I live in a important city, and still we only have busses, and they suck...
#25 to #22 - wizi (08/14/2012) [-]
Czech Republic here.. gas is over 7$ per gallon and public transportation is more expensive than using my car.. even when Im driving alone.
