Depends on your view of time and space. There may be alternate universes that spring up, or the time stream may simply alter itself so that Brian is still born, but into a different family. One RPG I played that allowed time travel basically told the GM to lie out his ass to prevent a paradox-don't let the players do anything to fuck up the timeline, if need be, lie, cheat, and kill a character for how stupid they are.

Actually this is easily solved, if his father went back in time there would be two versions of him in that timeline. So putting a condom on won't do anything really, unless of course he somehow put the condom on the other him. in which case he would cause a wound in time by interacting with himself. Which will cause reapers to come and devour everything in the wound and rewrite time.

What if his dad gave the condom to his future wife and told her that she needed to use it and she actually did...
