I haven't played it myself.
But for right now it is a Mod of Arma II:Combined Operations.
One map, Cheranus, I think is what it is called. 250km of open area, with a set number of players, I 'think' 100.
Open world, kind of, run about, scavenge, hunt animals, find ammo, survive.
You can make friends, or become enemies. There are tons of youtube videos, check 'em out, they'll show you more then I can tell you.

I have it. TBH community is too full of dicks for anybody to enjoy the game. (If you die, your character loses everything. Nobody says "friendly survivor over here bla bla bla" it's too much of a shoot first ask questions never game)

I want to try it...
But the 30 dollars is holding me back.
I work at walmart, not a big paycheck.

I've been used to a lot of games like that though, I'd probably enjoy it.

The idea of survival is to look for optimal servers and know what to do. (I won't get on servers with 20+ people)
Survival is fun especially if you have company. The main way to survive is to do what I call an elektro root. Elektro is one of the two main spawn cities that is heavily populated by people and zombies alike. There's a loot route through the high-priority buildings that you can take and then *hypothetically if you're lucky enough* that should give you enough supplies to head north into smaller, less populated towns. Once you get to those you should be fine.

If you have any other questions/things you wanna know about the game just ask haha.
