Very true, they think they can stop people from saving... I remember when I was 12, I spammed "save image as..." and enter over and over until I hit the right moment when my folder opened up. Eat DAT **** !

just drag the file to your desktop or your desired folder.....
User avatar #44 - IAreCaptainObvious (08/09/2012) [-]
With google chrome just drag the image to a new tab and it will open the hosted image page and you can save from there :)
User avatar #46 to #44 - yeahitsmitch (08/09/2012) [-]
I'll give that a shot sometime. But I usally just print screen and crop in MS Paint
User avatar #47 to #46 - IAreCaptainObvious (08/09/2012) [-]

Except that in order to see the picture in your web browser, it downloads it to your computer anyway.

Master trolls.
User avatar #32 to #31 - yeahitsmitch (08/09/2012) [-]
...no **** .. did you try to use one of the other methods to get the pic and they had it blocked that way also? That's messed up. Huh. It's just pictures of candy. Wtf
#33 to #32 - achselschweiss (08/09/2012) [-]
I was just curious after seeing your post, so I looked at the script they used in the "inspect element"-tab found in Chrome. The name of the script made me think that they did it to troll instead of actually caring about copyright..
Browser-extensions such as No-script can block these things, by the way.
User avatar #34 to #33 - yeahitsmitch (08/09/2012) [-]
Ah that makes sense. Kinda makes me want to screenshot like fifty of their pictures and just email them to the site as attachments just to see what they'd say.
User avatar #28 - ivoryhammer (08/09/2012) [-]
Reminds me of that "I has a bucket" thing, if you tried to save the picture you got a pop up saying not to steal the bucket.
User avatar #29 to #28 - yeahitsmitch (08/09/2012) [-]
Whaaat? That sounds hilarious, I've never heard of that.
#21 - anonymous (08/09/2012) [-]
you can also just select the loaded pictures in your browser and save them
(through website information in FF )

or you can disable context menu manipulation, though that doesn't work since sometimes they trick you with dummy links
User avatar #27 to #21 - yeahitsmitch (08/09/2012) [-]
Interesting to know!
#9 - mrswagly ONLINE (08/09/2012) [-]
That's kind of an ******* thing to do because they just wanted to keep their content Their content.
#22 to #9 - anonymous (08/09/2012) [-]
the ******* thing is to actually think that pictures, which are downloaded by the user anyway (and probably saved in the browser cache), should not be saved as a file.

if you upload it in public IT WILL BE DOWNLOADED /thread

It was a picture of "sugar daddy" candy. I don't feel bad about it.

hmm not that interesting...
User avatar #18 to #17 - yeahitsmitch (08/09/2012) [-]
Yep. It was just a random pic of candy on their site that they had blocked from saving which made me "wtf" all the more.
User avatar #8 - zejeffmeister (08/09/2012) [-]
That has never happened to me before and I wasn't even aware that it could happen before reading this
User avatar #13 to #8 - yeahitsmitch (08/09/2012) [-]
Yeah some sites have right clicking to save images disabled, but you can print screen and open in photoshop or MS Paint and crop the image and save it.
#6 - unholycapsicum (08/09/2012) [-]
Does it happen on all posts you try and save, cause for this one and a fair few others it works fine for me.
What browser do you use?
User avatar #26 to #6 - daviid (08/09/2012) [-]
oh **** ****** !

why do you have so many tabs open?!?!
User avatar #10 to #6 - yeahitsmitch (08/09/2012) [-]
It didn't happen on this site, it was on the site in the message I received in the comic.
User avatar #12 to #10 - unholycapsicum (08/09/2012) [-]
That makes much more sense.

Just ignore me, move on and ignore me.
#5 - anonymous (08/09/2012) [-]
If you use Firefox, you can still download the image by right clicking on the page, choose "View Page Info", and click "Media" tab. From there, scroll down one by one until you find the image you're looking for. Next, click "Save As", and you're done! :D
