Just use an image, turn up the opacity and print out the paper. For example.

As someone who has been through basic training I can tell you this is a REALLY, REALLY bad idea.

I don't know where you heard that the DS/ DI/ MTI can't read their letters, but if they can see through the envelope, or feel as though it holds something larger than a normal piece of paper the recruit has to open the letter in front of him/her.

Also, which service did she join? If it's the Marines, all letters get opened in front of the DI after they're all handed out.

I'm just trying to give you a different perspective, because everyone I've talked to from other services (I'm Air Force, but went to a joint service 'A school') has literally had a different experience in boot.

Yeah she'll be fine. Not only is she a tough chick, but they can't read her letters. They are in the room when she reads them but so are all the other recruits.
