There's a reason. Don't want to wake up early.

I'm actually more pissed at NBC's refusal to show the memorial to the victims to the London bombings and the victims of war. If it was in america, we'd be forced to watch a memorial on 9/11. The terrorist attack happened the day after the awarding.

Also it was 4pm on the eastcoast of america when the ceremony started.

guess we got our priorities straight, the olympics get boring when you know your country dominates almost all the competitions

So are you saying that NASA should buy out NBC. Thus replacing all the reporters with satellites that we have wait to get into position, and then get only a max of 3-4 hours coverage?
#7 to #6 - RonnyCreed (08/07/2012) [-]
NASA's satellites don't have the technology for Geosynchronous orbit. E.g. they can't stay above London for long enough to catch a full day of games. they COULD re-route other satellites and overlap their footage as they pass over, but that would interrupt telecommunications and television for the entire US and possibly other countries, as well as leaving us open to attack due to lack of an early warning system. Sorry for nerding all over your internet mate.

<- Speaking of NASA...

maybe it's intentional? if something happened in the olympics they didn't want you to see it could be more easily removed.

NBC has done terrible with the Olympics this time around.
#61 - lujan (08/07/2012) [+] (12 replies)
the channel that is hosting the olympics has to censor some bikini accidents, etc, they have to decide which sports to air for higher ratings, and they probably have to get permission from some athletes or the olmpics or something. there's tape delay in London for some of the channels. whereas NASA can just stream there **** because they don't deal with all the other stuff.
#70 to #61 - nignacio (08/07/2012) [-]
bikini accidents?
I'm buying the tickets to London right now
