Consider this: religion is basically an insurance policy. If Christians are right, and there is a God, you're basically fucked. But if atheists are right, and there is not a God, no big deal. Everything will continue on like nothing ever happened. To me though, religion is more than that. Religion is something I can base my life off of. It gives me a set of values. It makes me a better person. It's taught me to be loving and tolerant. And above all, it gives me hope when times are hard. If you don't want to be religious, that's completely fine. But to me it seems like it's harder to be an atheist than it is to believe in something. Whether it's God, Budha, or a simply a higher power.

The bit about "religion being an insurance policy" basically sums up Pascal's Wager. The biggest flaw with Pascal's Wager is that it's working under the assumption that the God in question is the Christian God, which raises a problem- what if you're wrong? What if you choose to believe in the Christian God, only to find out upon death that it's a different god, or a whole pantheon of gods? Would you be as screwed as the atheists who choose not to believe? The only way the Wager really works is if you believe in EVERY possible deity, which simply isn't possible.
And it's not hard to be an atheist- you simply don't believe in any deities. But even if it was, the easy way isn't always the right way. It's easier to claim that, say, mankind was created by an invisible man in the sky and leave at that, than it is to fully understand all the evidence supporting humanity's evolution from earlier hominids (even I don't fully understand evolution), but the evidence is heavily in favor of evolution being a scientific fact. Forgiveness is a lot harder than just staying mad at someone, but ultimately it's better if you forgive them, if only to rid yourself of the anger and hurt you feel and move on.
Not saying you should renounce Christianity and become an atheist. If your beliefs truly make you happy, and you don't use them as justification for hatred, bigotry and stupidity, then by all means continue believing.

You say this as if Christianity i the only religion. Lets say Christianity is wrong but some religion from a secluded village in Africa is right. Your insurance policy only covers Christianity. Seems like you're out of luck my friend, because if you don't believe in this "real" African god, then your punishment is rape by a tigermonkeyshark in the afterlife.
Well, if that's the case, then so be it. But I felt like Christianity was a better insurance policy than the rest, so I went with it. But honestly Religion doesn't sound as ridiculous as you make it sound. If you just consider it nothing does. I've considered science, and it doesn't sound ridiculous to me. I just didn't believe it was right.
It's not about not being able to handle our lives. It's about following something we believe is true. Just like you do. I'm sure there is something you believe that can not be completely proven. But there is strong evidence that practically proves my religion. Jesus. Is not only mentioned in The Bible, but he is also mentioned in the Koran. Though he is not mentioned favorably. Along with that, there are many other historical landmarks, and historical figures mentioned in The Bible. And if Jesus, is real, why would the rest of the bible not be. This is why it's easier for me to believe in God. But if you don't want to. that's your own thing.

the bible also says bats are birds and an elderly man rounded up two of every animal, and saved them in an arc he made. first off a bat is not a bird second every animal on this planet CANNOT do incest and continue the species it would cause horrible and uncontrollable mutations in the animal and the ones we have now would no way resemble the original ones. another dumb logic is that plants were made before the sun that is like saying computers were made before we even discovered electricity
It was not clarified that the animals were forced to engage in incest to continue the species. You're wrong about the plants being made before sun. The first thing God made was light. I suggest you actually read The Bible before you come to a Bible Fight.

This translation is from the New American Standard Bible, " Then God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. 16 God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also. 17 God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good. 19 There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day. "
But it was clearly stated that the light was already there. He appointed the sun and moon out of the light. Basically what he did was take the light and said, "Ok, here's the sun. You govern the day, and here's the moon. You govern the night. I just made a sun and moon out of light. So the light being there, vegetation was able to grow.

here is a factual error All flying insects that walk on all fours are to be detestable to you. There are, however, some winged creatures that walk on all fours that you may eat: ... Of these you may eat any kind of locust, katydid, cricket, or grasshopper. insects have six legs even in roman times they knew that and that is just one of the many factual errors like the bat is not a bird

yes true but some are not typos at all like
... The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved. (Psalms 93:1)
... The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved. (1 Chronicles 16:30)
He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved. (Psalms 104:5)
and there thoughts on demon
A mute could talk after having the demon driven out (Matthew 9:32).
A "demon-possessed" man who was blind and mute is cured by Jesus (Matthew 12:22).
A demon caused seizures (epilepsy) in a boy (Matthew 17:14-18).
A group of spirits caused a man to be insane (Mark 5:1-13).
A spirit crippled a woman (Luke 13:11).
also no snake eats dirt
So the Lord God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, ... You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust..."

why should i believe a book that has these completely outrageous tales you were just argued that one typo doesnt invalidate a science book but when there is complete nonsense evan if it is just one instance the book is discredited and everything in the book is put into question
To you, they're completely ridiculous, because you've already decided that, before you even gave it a chance. I find many aspects of science to be logical. Because I have an open mind, and I give things a chance. I'm not saying you have to believe what I believe. I'm simply saying, "This is why I believe it."

I did give it a chance even as a kid i thought they were ridicules tall tales the other week i gave Scientology a chance and it is the same shit just they said aliens instead of demons yet even though we have there leader quoted saying i want to make a religion people believe it. that blows my mind. and to be honest any religion at all that quotes another religion is just shit. the bible says Hades is Hell which the only way that is possible is if Zeus killed the other gods and Haides is this devil. why should we worship a creature that killed the rest of his species.
Well, it's cool for you to believe in anything you would like. But if Jesus was just some crazy cult leader, it wouldn't make sense how he could perform miracles. And it wouldn't make sense how he was sent to be crucified for our sins, and have just that happen. Coincidences like that don't happen. But again, this is just my belief, and I'm not trying to force it down your throat, I'm simply trying to help you see my reasoning.
Well, even today, the miracles he performed would be considered miracles. He made the blind see, he fed thousands with just a few loaves of bread and a couple fish. Now, again, there isn't exactly proof that these things really happened, but if so many aspects of The Bible are real, then why would these be fictitious?

There are thousands of old religions "pegan" religions that stretch back before jesus and they have people doing those same things some even share the same birth day others share his deathday too. also coincidences happen. Also there are cult leaders now a days who did "miricles". read the bible he raided a temple he died a criminal. back than they crucified people for crimes. thousands of people were killed like that and others were killed in worse ways like the being roasted in side a fake bull.
