Put the damn pipeline in, buy some soap, and the soldiers whose lives are saved by it would gladly wash oil off birds as a show of gratitude.

and one of the nice things about land based pipelines is that every few kilometers you have what is called a "line break", which is an emergency shutoff valve that will automatically close off the pipeline should a rupture occur.
Sure, bp had emergency valves on the gulf rig, but the difference here is that bp was ignoring the required maintenance on those valves. something about it being too costly and inconvenient to test/repair them. the valves on land are a fair bit easier to maintain.

I would know, those systems are part of my job.

I see no problem with eating there though it's against gay rights. I'm an LBGT rights supporter, but I wouldn't stop eating for that :l

I'm entirely for gay rights. I'm also for free speech. He has a right to be against gay marriage. I can't penalize him for his opinions when I have my own.
