Whenever you divide a square up into several other squares there's a simple formula for the number of internal squares. 1^2 + 2^2 + etc...
n^2 where n is the number of divisions
Sum of x^2 from 1 to 320 is the answer, plus the forty drawn by the pixels, so
10973920 pixel squares plus 40 equals
10973960
