Both good athletes and poor health can be attributed to growing wealth in developed nations. America has an extremely well funded athletic program, but also the wealth is what is driving us to buy more and more fast food/eating out (instead of making health dinners at home).

Yes, saying that the U.S. is the most powerful economic nation in the world is like saying we're the smartest kid in afterschool detention, but the state of America is still better than most other countries.
