you cant deny that western culture is in the middle of a decadence that started with the world wars.
I think that everything from 1945 afterwards is decadent, even the beatles are decadent shit compared with the art we used to create in the previous centuries, but with each year the decadence destroys culture faster and faster and each generation will be worst than the previous until we collapse
so, YES, the new generation is a shit compared to us, and ours is a shit compared to our parent's; its the time we have to live
I hope china and the India can last resist our corruption, but with all the globalization, i fear ''popular'' culture will soon infectate every corner of the world populating the world with stupidity and nihilism

My argument is based in that we write songs that wont be listened in the next centuries, we paint but paintings are soon forgotten, european culture no longer produces pieces of work that are worth to survive more than a century

our philosophers have forgotten what their name means, philo-love sophy-knowledge, they do not longer seek knowledge with pasion, but with a matematical and scientific precision; there is no space for free thought, the world is standarized, the knowledge cathegorized, if Nietzsche lived today, he would be in a psychiatric hospital before he could start writting

The masses won the battle, democracy has let the mob to control the politics , the world is no longer divided in the common people and an intellectual elite, now we are all mediocre, the people has forgotten the ideals, we want security not justice, nobody is eager to make any sacrifice for real change, politics lie and dont change anything, but is because they truly represent the people, and the people are happy with ther mediocracy

This has happened before, the roman empire suffered the same, christianism destroyed the roman society, atheism is destroying ours; romans philosophers instead of innovating, stopped the pursuit of the truth and stuck to the greeks, we are have been beating arround the bushes with neopositivism for more than 80 years

I am not saying we are going to dissapear suddenly,It took the roman empire 500 years to dissapear, and still, in the middle ages, some states still considered themselves as a continuation of the roman empire(Holy Roman Empire, the Byzantine empire,the frankish kingdom)
we are a deadly ill culture refusing to accept our destiny,that is the destiny of all cultures, to die; we are doomed to dissapear in this era, we can only hope whoever comes after us improves our legacy

Not entirely, I don't seem to remember running around shouting "YOLO" or "SWAG". I think think that kids of today have it horrible. hell, Look at whats on TV, 16 and pregnant. i can tell you that i didn't expect the next gen of kids to have their heads up each others asses.
