...and Doctor Who, I mean everyone heard the TARDIS noise and wasn't there an episode set during the 2012 olympics? It would've been hilarious if Tennant lit the torch.

They planned on having a brief Doctor Who montage with clips from each Doctor but that athlete parade thing lasted way too long so they had to cut it out.

Dr Who is a part of British culture but the Olympics is a sports event and so it would have been innapropriate for David Tennant to actually light the cauldron. I think he may have been part of the torch relay though.
