I hate it when people say this because nigger has always just been a derogatory term for black people. I do agree that some black people are not as good of citizens as others, but that is the case with all races. Nigger has always been a word to degrade black people. You didn't see people back in the 1800's when slaves were around calling certain black people niggers because they acted like less of a citizen than others. They called black people niggers to try to degrade them. It's been the same case all the way through time. It's not like I'm sitting here being a black person lover, but it just irks me when people try to say "hurrrr nigger is just a black person that acts like less of a citizen than most people."

I would have to respectfully disagree, There are a large amount of situations where I'd throw myself in front of a bullet for someone, but you are right most of the time people would GTFO from that situation. However you can't assume everyone is the same, and you have to consider every situation.

I've been in SWAT, and if anything, ducking and taking cover are among the biggest of advice's. It's common sense though, or should be. I'm pretty sure there are people who run away. But staying down and hidden is the best of choices.
In this case, even if you were to duck, the shooter wouldn't have entirely spotted you due to the gas he threw out from the start. Staying on the ground is the best of choices.
The only thing you'd have to be worried about is a few stray bullets getting through the lower aisle seats and making its way to you, or the killer deciding to scout the area and 'clean up'. In this case, crawling with your stomach on the ground from one end to the other would grant you an exit (but would be difficult if there are bodies or wounded in the way). If there is another entrance hall to the room (since fire exits are usually at either end on the front). Even if you're on the top rows, you can jump the banister, or dangle and drop onto the hall, or vault the bar if low enough, then run.
Of course, you'd have to be able to think many steps ahead, wait for some cool down time (as in make sure the shooter's momentarily stopped) and, if with someone else, demand that they stay still until you go get help. Because in these cases, you can't risk bringing others along, or both would go down....
