Whites don't need pride. They've never been oppressed and can already act as normal people.
The same reason that having 'straight pride' is stupid.

You are incorrect. They were not slaves they just had really shitty jobs. They worked or almost nothing and on jobs that the Irish wouldn't take because of the risks associated with said job. Yes they did build railroads for pay in horrible conditions just like everyone else who built railroads then.

I'm gay and I find the idea of "gay pride" stupid.
I don't mean that I'm ashamed of being gay... It's the fact I had no choice in the matter, and it isn't an achievement to be "proud" of. It's just a small part of me that doesn't need to be acknowledged so much that I have to go on about it.
Gay? Sure.
FIne with it? Hell yeah!
Proud? Why?

I have to agree with you there.
I have a gay friend, and he absolutely detests the gay pride things. He says that it just furthers the implication that being gay is a choice, as how could one be proud of something they have no control over?

Yeah. When I came out, my friends were like "OMG you have to like tell everyone!"
to which I always said "Um... No."
"Come on! Be proud of who you are!"
Just because I'm gay doesn't mean I have to shove the fact up in people's faces.
Not to mention I hate the way my female friends treat me now. I mean, they were okay, and only a little bit like this before I came out, but after I came out it was all the stuff:
When we went out - "OMG We have to get you laid!!!" (I remember on New Year's they went about the entire pub going to every man "Our friend's gay, would you like to kiss him at midnight?"... It was one of the most embarrassing things ever and I left even before it was midnight.
They do shit like try to give me makeovers: "Oh just let us! We know how to make you look good!" (After their "makeover" I essentially looked like a butch lesbian with greasy hair)
And the ONE TIME I actually kissed a guy at a concert, after all their "support" they were like "Ryan, umm, that was kind of ewwww, don't do that infront of us!"
to which I always said "Um... No."
"Come on! Be proud of who you are!"

Oh yeah... Not to mention the fact they are always asking me which guys in school I like, and constantly trying to get me to rate people on a scale of 1-10 on how fuckable they are to me.
They even do this when my male friends are there, which obviously makes them uncomfortable. They are okay with me being gay, but they obviously aren't used to talking about how hot guys are, and I don't like how inconsiderate my female friends are about it.
